Jennifer Langsdale is the founder, owner and director of Awaken Yoga.
My journey towards creating a yoga studio and school started about 10 years ago, when I began seeing clients privately for therapeutic yoga. We saw amazing results through our work together – healing their bodies with yoga asanas and their minds & emotions with my Yoga Therapy training.
Over the next several years, my experience and education expanded as I hosted yoga classes at various studios throughout Northeast Ohio. Then I made a big decision… I left my full-time job to focus on my yoga business (I call this my life purpose). I developed my own yoga school which has been educating people about yoga and yogic studies since 2008. I also continued my own studies with Shiva Rea and became certified in Rea’s Prana Flow® Vinyasa program. I now teach this and other styles of yoga at my own studio in Mentor, Ohio.
Awaken Yoga Studio
As Awaken Yoga School grew, I opened the full studio location with a partner to create a warm, friendly, non-intimidating and true heart-opening yoga environment. We found the perfect spot in a cozy old cottage house in Old Mentor. Awaken Yoga Studio, School & Healing Arts Center opened its doors in Spring 2012, right after the birth of my first child. l took over full ownership once again in 2015 when my partner left to pursue a new endeavor.
Along with running a full class schedule, Awaken Yoga has two healing arts treatments rooms where we offer all different types of massage, reiki, and my own healing modality, Inner Wisdom®.
My Yoga Therapy training evolved over years of helping my clients through a variety of different yogic techniques to find healing. Thus, Inner Wisdom® was born. In 2013, I created the Inner Wisdom® certification program so that others can practice this healing art. I’m continually astounded by the amazing results this practice of yoga and healing arts has for my clients and the people around me.
After the birth of my second child, I also felt a profound connection to prenatal and postnatal care, helping women learn how to work with their bodies before, during and after pregnancy.
Living a Yogic Life
I have my own sacred space on the Web to share with you the many things I have learned as a yogi. I’ve created a lifestyle for myself that draws from the many teachings of yoga, and I want to help you do the same – to learn how to live your yoga. You can read my blog and sign up for updates, here.
